Windalle Station

Windalle Station

Windalle Station , is situated approximately 30km north of Menindee, Owned and operated by Nick and Sharon Bonslaar.

The Property has been part of the family since 1896 Sharon (Wife) , Inherited Windalle staion a few decades ago.

Upon first notice, Nick and Sharon enjoy the solitude of being close to the Lakes of Menindee, and Enjoy the time they might aquire on the off chance they  get to spend gardening. But, with all the work thats involved in working with such a big station, with 96,000 acres, 8000 sheep and not to mention 400 head of cattle, its no wonder, that this hard working couple look forward to bridging towards retirement after 36 years at it.

The postitive approach towards the Paewai shearing Inititave has sparked very positive feedback, with Nicks own words stating, ''its a fantastic idea. Its great and good to see people happy, not complaining, and hopefully in the near future we can see that smoking might also be enforced, and that the contamination of wool might be protected. We find this drug policy commendable ".

Nick and Sharon have made improvments on the shearing quarters, and many of Paewai Shearing employees enjoy it there. They have a great kitchen, and the cook is spoilt with a reverse cycle air conditioner and the workers can take an escape from the summer heat during lunch.

Being close to the lake also brings comfort to working at this staion.

We thank Nick and Sharon for their views and hospitatlity during shearing time.
