Paewai Shearing is committed to operating by safe practice's, and continually strive to improve the work place in anyway possible. Firstly by making our work force safe.

 

One area in particular that we have decided to focus some attention on is Alcohol and Drug abuse.

 

From June 2014 we have made the stand to operate completely DRUG FREE!  Paewai Shearing will not employ anyone who uses drugs or is a heavy user of alcohol.

 

To insure these standards are maintained, we have incorporated random Drug testing,

We will also test Alcohol levels by breathalyser before entering the work place.

 

There are many reasons why Paewai Shearing have made the decision to head in this direction.

These are but a few of those resons.

 

Users display acts of random behaviour,  

failure to turn up for work,

they develop the desire to party all night and have no respect for others working in the team,

too many sick days off,

aggressive mood swing behaviour,

never in a physically fit state for work,

a hazard to others especially if they are operating machinery or equipment,

unsociable behaviour,

and the list goes on.

 

although there are isolated cases where some individuals would appear to have Drug use under control, to a point where it doesn't affect there ability to work.

the majority of Drug users don't.
