Devon Station

Devon Station is approximately 100km east of Broken Hill on the Wilcannia road,

 

Owned and operated by the Edwards family, Burt and Barb have been on the property for the last fifteen years, prior to that coming from a family property in white cliffs,

they chose to move to Devon because it was a bigger property.

 

Burt and Barb still work the property with son Ben who helps out in the busy times like shearing.

 

Burt expects a good job done at shearing time, he likes likes an easy going team and his sheep shorn cleanly, and the workplace/accomodation to be left as it is found.

 

Burt and Barb make sure the sheep are close or on site and any maintainence needed is taken care of before the shearing time.

 

Burt thinks the Drug Free policies is a pretty good idea, and feels that it is becoming a standard procedure in the workplace and if you are tested positive it is nobodys fault but the user and they must face the penalties involved.

 

The families hobbies are very mundane they like mucking around with their horses and competing in campdraft competitions across australia but rarely find the time.
